Boston Scholar Athletes

What is the Scholar Athletes Tutoring and Mentoring Program?

Scholar Athletes is designed to reduce the opportunity gap for urban public high school students and pursues this vision across school based learning centers called Zones.  Volunteers are at the core of this goal and play a key role in supporting Zone members in academic coaching & mentoring, health & wellness, and postsecondary planning for success on and off the field.

  • Provide assistance to students with Homework, Test Prep, and Postsecondary Planning
  • Support the Program Coordinator by actively engaging with the students.
  • Make a difference for Zone members by supporting the core of Scholar Athletes Academic, Social Emotional, and Athletic support.
  • Gain Skills and Tools through hands on training and direct service with Zone members and staff.
  • Commit at least 1- 2 hours per week to provide Consistency and Accountability for Zone members and staff.
