Supporting academic achievement through athletics
The signature component of our model is the Zone, dedicated school-based learning centers designed and resourced to support and encourage students to set academic and athletic goals, gain needed support to help them stay on track, and provide them with access and opportunities to explore post-secondary options. The Zones are staffed, managed and funded by Scholar Athletes, and are available for use during the day and after-school by student-athletes and aspiring student-athletes in grades 9-12. Services provided in the Zone are free of charge to the students.
A member of the Varsity Soccer Team as a Freshman and Sophomore, Amanda has been coming to the TBA Zone for the past two years. She is a model scholar-athlete maintaining a 3.8 GPA and participating in SA intramurals and Indoor & Outdoor Track. A very humble and hardworking student, Amanda knows the Zone is the best resource for her to balance four honors classes and athletics!
Terrence is the Program Coordinator at Tech Boston Academy in Dorchester. Terrence was a four-year Division I Football player at UConn before joining the Scholar Athletes team. Because of his background and passion for athletics and youth development, coming to Scholar Athletes was the perfect fit. Terrence looks forward to each new day in the Zone, where he flourishs in bringing a smile to each Zone member that walks through the door, while also managing the space and facilitating study halls during the school day.
